Greenkeepers clippings .... new hazards
13th ditch Best way to describe this, is that it will be a hazard that catches the water from the surrounding area as it’s a highly boggy area through the winter months. There is a ditch that will take water it holds away towards the tree line, but will still sit soggy on occasion when there has been a fair bit of rain. Come the spring it will be seeded with grass and some patches of reeds planted. The idea is it that you will be able to find your ball 90% of the time and play it out but as a hazard shot.(like the ditch near 17th green with more patches of reed in)
17th ditch/walkway This area tends to get very wet to walk though in the winter months and tends to marsh land like. To help with this, the ditch was mainly dug to use the soil to raise the path above the marsh land and to hold the water during the wetter times in the year. We decided to not use soil from other areas of the course as this would have been damaging to the course to track soil from else where. When the environmental factors are ideal, we will be seeding all over the raised bath, so blends into it surroundings .
