Central Sevens

Witney Lakes Central Sevens team make it back to the first division of the league after a 3 year absence with a second consecutive divisional winners success topping the 2nd division while other sides in the division still have games to play.

This has been an outstanding year for the team with only one loss in ten games something I have not seen in all the years I have been connected with the team at Witney Lakes. If we had not had draws in our first two home games the points tally could have been a record breaker this year, outstanding!

My sincerest thanks go out to ALL those who took the time to put themselves forward to be available for selection for the team and those other stalwarts who came to my aid when it was difficult scratching together a team of seven from time to time.

A fantastic effort over the last two years to get us back to the top flight of the league, well done and congratulations to all.

PS: the Witney Lakes AGM is on Monday October 31st and the list is up for WLGC committee places one of which is the Central Sevens Captaincy, if anyone wants the opportunity to take on the team, get your name on the list and get voted in at the AGM.
